Optional healing techniques are those techniques that require the spiritual healer to touch their client in a manner that could incorrectly be construed as being massage therapy. For this reason the Federation requires that if you offer any of these services to the public for any other purpose than spiritual healing, you must become certified as an expert in these fields and maintain malpractice insurance for that specialty.

While the Federation has adopted these techniques as spiritual healing techniques, each spiritual healer license board may allow these practices under their license or not at their sole discretion. Licensed spiritual healers who perform these techniques outside the scope of their spiritual healer license do so at their own risk.

Aromatherapy Touch Techniques

Aromatherapy touch techniques used for spiritual healing is permitted. Those spiritual healers using aromatherapy touch techniques as one of their healing techniques must become certified and maintain certification as an aromatherapist. (Note: All licensed spiritual healers may use aromatherapy as a spiritual healing technique. This section only applies to those aromatherapists desiring to use an aromatherapy touch technique.) The following aromatherapy touch techniques are recognized by the Federation so long as the healer maintains valid certification from an approved certification or licensing board:

RAINDROP TECHNIQUE - this form of spiritual anointing may be used.

VITAFLEX - this form of spiritual anointing may be used.

Acupressure

Acupressure used for spiritual healing is permitted. Those spiritual healers using acupressure as one of their healing techniques must become certified and maintain certification as an acupressurist. Spiritual healers may use acupressure as a spiritual healing technique. The following acupressure techniques are recognized by the Federation so long as the healer maintains valid certification from an approved acupressure board:

ACUPRESSURE - all forms of spiritual acupressure may be used.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY - this form of spiritually laying on hands may be used.

JIN SHIN DO - this form spiritual acupressure may be used.

SHIATSU - this form of spiritual acupressure may be used.

SPIRITUAL ACUPRESSURE - all forms of spiritual acupressure may be used.

Reflexology

Reflexology used for spiritual healing is permitted. Those spiritual healers using reflexology as one of their healing techniques must become certified and maintain certification as a reflexologist. Spiritual healers may use reflexology as a spiritual healing technique. The following reflexology techniques are recognized by the Federation so long as the healer maintains valid certification from an approved certification or licensing board:

EAR REFLEXOLOGY - this form of spiritual reflexology may be used.

HAND REFLEXOLOGY - this form of spiritual reflexology may be used.

JAPANESE FOOT THERAPY - this form of spiritual reflexology may be used.

PRECISION REFLEXOLOGY - this form of spiritual reflexology may be used.

PRECISION TOUCH - this version of spiritual reflexology may be used.

REFLEXOLOGY - all forms of spiritual reflexology may be used.

TONG REN THERAPY - this form of spiritual reflexology may be used.

Biofeedback

Audio, Sound, Light, Visual, Biofeedback and Neurofeedback therapy used for spiritual healing is permitted. Those spiritual healers using one or more of these techniques as one of their healing techniques must become certified and maintain this certification as a biofeedback therapist or neurotherapist. Spiritual healers may use any of these techniques as a spiritual healing technique. The following techniques are recognized by the Federation so long as the healer maintains valid certification from an approved biofeedback board:

AUDIO VISUAL THERAPY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

BIOFEEDBACK - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

LIGHT THERAPY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

NEUROTHERAPY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

SOUND THERAPY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

VISUAL THERAPY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Nutrition.

Homeopathy, Naturopathy and Nutrition used for spiritual healing is permitted. Those spiritual healers using these techniques as one of their healing techniques must become certified and maintain this certification as an homeopath, naturopath or nutritionist coach. Spiritual healers may use any of these techniques as a spiritual healing technique. The following techniques are recognized by the Federation so long as the healer maintains valid certification from an approved certification or licensing board:

SPIRITUAL HOMEOPATHY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

SPIRITUAL NATUROPATHY - this form of spiritual healing may be used.

SPIRITUAL NUTRITION - this form of spiritual healing may be used.
